On Super Tuesday, Labor Gave Edge to Clinton

From the AFL-CIO Now blog:

Union members turned out in big numbers in yesterday’s Super Tuesday 23-state primary election. According to exit polls in California, union households made up 32 percent of the vote in the nation’s most populous state. Union voters made up 33 percent of the vote in Connecticut, 30 percent in Delaware, 38 percent in Illinois, 27 percent in Massachusetts, 27 percent in Missouri, 35 percent in New Jersey and 40 percent in New York.

MSNBC's exit polling data shows:

Calif. (Clinton won the whole state 52 - 42): Union households totaled 31% of Democratic voters, and roughly followed the whole state's outcome.

Illinois: (Obama won 65 - 33): Union households totaled 38% of Democratic voters, and gave Obama a 59 - 38 victory.

Missouri (Obama won 49 - 48): Union households totaled 27%, and went for Clinton 54 - 40.

New York (Clinton won 57 - 40): Union households totaled 40%, and went for Clinton 60 - 40.

Connecticut (Obama won 51 - 47): Union households totaled 33%, and sided with Clinton 49 - 48.

Massachusetts (Clinton won 56 - 41): Union households totaled 27% and voted for Clinton roughly 59 to 35.

Delaware (Obama won 53 - 43): Union households totaled 30% and voted for Clinton 48 - 47.

Arizona (Clinto won 51 - 42): Union households totaled 16% of Democratic voters and went to Clinton 57 to roughly 35.

New Mexico (too close to call at 1 p.m.): Union households totaled 22% of Democratic voters and went to Clinton 58 - 40.
