According to exit polls produced by MSNBC, 25% of voters in the Democratic primary came from union households. And they voted for Barack Obama 61-36, reflecting the statewide total numbers. This is a huge shift in the labor vote for Obama. Obama won among men and women, whites, Blacks, wealthy, poor, old and young. Liberals, independents, Democrats, and others backed Obama.
Racism continues to raise concerns. Hillary Clinton won a majority of voters who believe the country "is not ready for a Black president."
