The Texas Republicans have decided on how they are going to campaign against Obama, apparently. According to the Dallas Morning News, among the anti-Obama campaign gear circulated there was a lapel button that said, "If Obama is President will we still call it the White House."

I am a Dallas resident and I can tell that there are many whites who voted Republican four years ago will vote for Obama. These are financially well off individuals well aware of how their tax status will change under and Obama administration. They cut across every age and gender. They're fed up with the economic downslide and the path in Iraq and next in Iran. Dallas County went overwhelmingly Democratic in 2004 and 2006 electing almost all countywide offices including a gay sheriff and African-American D.A.
There is hope. If the Democrats can increase their vote in Houston and west central Texas, there is hope of a state sweep. Rick Noriega running for U.S. Senate is within 5 points of Senator John Cornyn. The big surprise in November may be Texas.
