Build a better mouse trap

This article from ScienceDaily.com described a new irrigation system that will help save as much as 25% of the water used to water golf courses. To quote:

A project carried out by the Departamento de Teoría de la Señal y Comunicaciones of the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid (UC3M) has resulted in the development of an irrigation management system of easy installation on golf courses based on networks of wireless sensors.


Here's a better idea. Stop watering golf courses. Heck, stop making them. Play basketball, tennis or take a walk in nature for exercise. Imagine the hue and cry from the privileged classes if a movement banned the construction of golf courses.
