My Oh My – Maryland Labor Stands with Obama

According to exit polls produced by MSNBC, 25% of voters in the Democratic primary came from union households. And they voted for Barack Obama 61-36, reflecting the statewide total numbers. This is a huge shift in the labor vote for Obama. (See here for data on labor's vote on Super Duper Mega Whopper Tuesday; union households in Louisiana last Saturday numbered more than 1 in 5 Democratic voters in that state and handed Obama a 57-32 victory).

Obama won among men and women, whites, Blacks, wealthy, poor, old and young. Liberals, independents, Democrats, and others backed Obama.

Racism continues to raise concerns. Hillary Clinton won a majority of voters who believe the country "is not ready for a Black president."
