Don't Diss D.C.

Barack Obama's 3-to-1 victory in Washington DC may not be a surprise, but let's think back to just a few months ago when someone else was the inevitable winner. Let's recall a time when some pundits projected that D.C. would have no role in the selection of the Democratic nominee.

This year, Obama's candidacy has made every vote count more than in previous primary seasons. And it may just be that the energy, the organization, and the sense that we do have power to change this country from the bottom up inspired by the Obama campaign will end Republican rule and end an ideology of war, greed, fear and hate that has ruled over us for too long.
