Take Action and Say No To Honduras Coup

NO to the Military Coup! Demand the Unconditional Reinstatement of Honduran President Zelaya

A military coup has taken place in Honduras this morning, led by SOA graduate Romeo Vasquez. On Sunday, June 28, members of the Honduran military surrounded the presidential palace and forced the democratically elected president, Manuel Zelaya, into custody.

While Latin American governments, the OAS and the European Union immediately spoke out in support of President Zelaya and against the coup plotters, the first statements from the United States fell short of calling for the reinstatement of Zelaya as the legitimate president. It is up to us to pressure the U.S. government to take action in support of democracy.
