Video: President Obama's defense of religious freedom

  1. I find it annoying that a lot of the media interpreted his follow up comments as a qualification of this statement.

    He actually said: "I was not commenting and I will not comment on the wisdom of making the decision to put a mosque there. I was commenting very specifically on the right people have that dates back to our founding. That's what our country is about."

    --which an even stronger defense of religious freedom.

    People should recall would have been wrong for him to endorse the building of a specific place of worship. Can you imagine the furor if he had said something like they should build a Unitarian Church in Wasilla, Alaska next Sarah Palin?

    This was a strong stand.
