What the Iraq War has Cost

By the end of 2009, the US government will have authorized about $750 billion to be spent on the war. Prominent economists Linda Bilmes and Joseph Stiglitz estimate that the war will cost taxpayers and the next generation of taxpayers more than $3 trillion, a conservative estimate.

  1. It's strange to think that Stiglitz used to work for the World Bank, one of the most oppressive and reactionary institutions on the planet.

    He's now doing very meaningful and beneficial work, and should be respected and applauded for exposing the lies that the right uses to dominate the people of this country and others.
